New painting!

I know… it has been a while that I stepped into my studio where some works that I have started working on a good time back were waiting patiently for me… I was waiting for the right inspiration, energy and time, and here it was…

Exhibition ‘t Kunstuus "Captured in Paint"

From 16/05/2012 – 09/06/2012 I will have an exhibition in the artgallery ‘t Kunstuus in Heinkenszand (NL) together with Dimitri Cambier. He will display some ceramics works, and I will show some of my paintings. The focus for me in this exhibition will lie in capturing the flow and movement I see in in nature and life, in color and in structure. A snapshot of the latest work finished

Just a snapshot of the painting I just finished. The inspiration for this painting began with the tremors and volcanic activity on El Hierro in 2011, and what is still going on (…) My mother, Joke Volta, makes pictures every day for the site earthquake report, to follow the status of the eruption… The colors there led me to this painting, ending in a dragon shape bursting out of the lava…. I am currently preparing for an exhibition from 16 may – 9 june 2012 in the ‘t Kunstuus in Heinkenszand (NL) ( So more new paintings need to be made, but inspiration enough around in the world…

Freaking with Paint / Coda Museum Apeldoorn

For a contest “Freaking with Paint” for the magazine Atelier, I have been chosen as one of the 100 best entries! The contest was freaking out with paint on a canvas 30 x 30 cm. The 100 best entries for the painting contest, organized by Royal Talens and the magazine Atelier, a good theme where the participants are fully indulged. The 100 best entries will be exhibited form October 4th until December 4th 2010.
